Current Election News

The next election is Saturday, July 19th, 2008

The early voting process for the upcoming election begins on Saturday, July 5th, and will close on Saturday, July 12th at 4:30 p.m.. Those persons who want to cast an early ballot in person should do so at their local registrar of voters office. Louisiana law provides for early voting by mail, and special provisions are in place for persons in the military. Voters who are physically unable to vote in person at the polls on election day and unable to vote in person at the registrar's office may be eligible for the Special Program for Physically Handicapped Voters.

What will be voted on:

ParishWide

Continuation of existing 1% sales & use tax for a period of 4 years.
Proceeds to be used to fund Parish Road and Bridge fund.

  Continuation of a 3 mills property tax for 10 years.
To be used for maintaining Parish Library.
 
Fire Protection District 1 10 year, 10 mill renewal of property tax.
 
Gravity Drainage District #4. Continuance of 2 mills property tax for a period of 5 years.
