The Election is SATURDAY, May 3rd, 2014

The last day to Register to Vote in this election is Wednesday, April 2nd, 2014.

The early voting process for the upcoming election begins on Saturday, April 19th at 8:30 a.m., and will close on Saturday, April 26th at 6:00 p.m.. Those persons who want to cast an early ballot in person should do so at their local registrar of voters office. Louisiana law provides for early voting by mail, and special provisions are in place for persons in the military. Voters who are physically unable to vote in person at the polls on election day and unable to vote in person at the registrar's office may be eligible for the Special Program for Physically Handicapped Voters.

Propositions and Amendments
Cosolidated School District No. 1 Proposition Consolidated School District No.1
Shall Consolidated School District No. 1 of Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana (the "District"), be authorized to levy a special tax of fifteen (15) mills on all property subject to taxation within the District (an estimated $3,590,085 is reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the tax for an entire year) for a period of ten (10) years, beginning with the year 2014 and ending with the year 2023, for the exclusive purpose of providing additional funds for operating, maintaining and equipping in K-12 Hammond Schools; accelerated classes, visual and performing arts programs, "International Baccalaureate Programs," Montessori Education, Communication Magnet programs, "STEM" extended day, and/or other educational enhancement programs; and paying salaries and benefits of teachers and other public school personnel that are necessary to maintain and/or further implement such programs?

A Reminder to Voters - Take Picture ID to Polls
When you go to the polls to cast your vote in any election, be sure to take a driver's license, a Louisiana Special ID, or some other generally recognized picture ID. Voters who have no picture ID and bring only a utility bill, payroll check or government document that includes their name and address will have to sign an affidavit furnished by the Elections Division in order to vote. Should any problems or questions arise, the principal office of the Registrar of Voters in each parish will be open from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m. on election day.
