IDEAS 2000 
IDEAS 2000 is an acronym for Internet-based Document Electronic Access System; 2000 is, of course, a representation of the new millennium. IDEAS 2000, although certainly an ambitious undertaking, does not "break new ground;" rather, it employs an "integration" of existing computer and office-automation technologies in such a way as to prepare the Clerk's Office to better serve the Public and those professionals who regularly interact with the Clerk of Court. 

IDEAS 2000 integrates the Clerk's existing minicomputer-based Records Indexing system with a high-speed Local Area Network of "image-enabled" PCs and extends access to both the Records Indices and the underlying digitized images of the related documents to subscribers via Internet Web-based technology. Subscribers to the service can use any computer with an Internet connection and standard PC "Web Browsers" such as Netscape Navigator® or Microsoft Internet Explorer® to connect to the system at the Clerk's site on the World Wide Web.

In addition to the Records Index and Document Access/Retrieval component, IDEAS 2000 includes the publication of a web site that will answer a host of questions about the "who, what, when, where, and how" of the Clerk's operations. Access to this body of general information is provided at no charge to anyone who "visits" the web site.

The site is equipped to handle secure e-commerce transactions as well. Using IDEAS2000, site visitors are able to:

  • browse tangiclerk.org (the Internet Domain Name of the Tangipahoa Parish Clerk of Court web site) for information on our services; 
  • download Passport and Marriage License application forms and instructions; 
  • download certain mortgage cancellation forms;
  • order and pay for (via credit card) Certified Copies of documents

Subscribers to IDEAS2000 Internet Services, in addition to the above, may purchase varying class memberships of various durations.  Depending upon the membership purchased, during the subscription period, subscribers may search certain Indexes of public records, view the underlying document images online, and purchase "prints" of document images.  In order to produce a "print" of an image, the subscriber must have a printer installed on the computer from which he or she is logged in to IDEAS2000 and is viewing the image.  Prints of images are priced at $1.50 per page and must be paid for via credit card prior to printing.
