Please be advised that the Secretary of State's Notary Division has informed all Parish Notary Committees of changes brought forth in the 2008 Regular Session of the Legislature. These changes include the dissolution of all individual Parish Notarial Committees. Therefore, as of August 15, 2008, all notary applicants, whether they are new applications, parish changes, or attorneys, will file their qualifying application and/or exam registration from with the Secretary of State's Notary Division. These forms, along with the insturctions, will be available on the Secretary of State's web site by August 11, 2008.
Other functions and duties of the Clerk's Office include Civil Suits, Criminal records, Jury, Marriage Licenses, and Passports. The Tangipahoa Parish Clerk of Court also has a sub-office Hammond, Louisiana, located in the Train Station Depot. The Tangipahoa Parish Clerk of Court currently employs more than forty full time employees. Of these, 29 are Certified Deputy Clerks of Court, while the remainder are in the process of completing certification requirements. A Mission Statement has been created and signed by the Tangipahoa Parish Clerk of Court employees.
