Purchasing Department 

The Chief Deputy is responsible for the purchasing of all consumable supplies and capital equipment used by the Tangipahoa Parish Clerk of Court. In addition, he is responsible for maintaining an inventory of all items owned by the Clerk, in particular, items costing over five-hundred dollars ($500.00).

All items purchased by the Clerk must be acquired in accordance with state laws governing purchasing (LRS 38:2212.1). Items costing less than ten thousand ($10,000.00) dollars may be bought on the open market, that is, from any vendor that the Clerk might choose to buy from. Items costing over ten thousand but less than twenty thousand dollars ($10,000-20,000) may be bought without bid, but only after receiving three telephone or written price quotes. Items costing over twenty thousand dollars($20,000.00) must have written specifications and must be advertised for bid in a sealed bid process that takes approximately four weeks to complete.
