About Us! 

Tangipahoa Parish was created in 1869, from portions of Washington, St. Tammany, St. Helena, and Livingston Parishes. Tangipahoa Parish is now part of the 21st Judicial District, and also includes Livingston and St. Helena Parishes.

The Clerk of Court is Julian E. Dufreche. He is elected to a four year term. He is ex-officio notary public, parish recorder of mortgage and conveyances and the Chief Elections Officer of the parish. Mr. Dufreche has adopted a vision statement for the Tangipahoa Parish Clerk of Court's office:

"To improve government until it becomes the standard of excellence for American business."

Other functions and duties of the Clerk's Office include Civil Suits, Criminal records, Jury, Marriage Licenses, and Passports.

A Mission Statement has been created and signed by the Tangipahoa Parish Clerk of Court employees.

"Our commitment to excellence and continued improvement is the foundation upon which we serve the public and work in partnership with the community."
