ELECTION is SATURDAY, OCTOBER 12, 2019

POLLS OPEN at 7:00 AM and CLOSE at 8:00 PM

IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER for this Election:
Last Day to Register in PERSON or by MAIL to Vote: 09/11/19
Last day to Register to Vote using Geaux Vote Online Registration: 09/21/19
Early voting (8:30 am – 6:00 pm each day) 09/28/19 – 10/05/19
*** Persons who want to cast an early ballot in person should do so at their Local Registrar of Voters Office. Louisiana Law provides for early voting by mail, and special provisions are in place for persons in the military. Voters who are physically unable to vote in person at the polls on Election Day and/or who are unable to vote in person at the registrar’s office may be eligible for the Special Program for Physically Handicapped Voters. ***
Reminder: Valid identification is required when voting. Please take a picture ID to polls. Voters with only a utility bill, payroll check or government document with their name and address must sign an affidavit furnished by the Elections Division in order to vote.

  • State Senator
  • State Representative
  • Judge, 21st JDC – Div. “D”
  • Sheriff
  • Councilmen
Municipalities:
  • Town of Independence: Mayor, Aldermen
  • City of Ponchatoula: Mayor, Chief of Police, Council Members, Millage Renewal Proposition

***Effective with Fall 2019 Elections, there are precinct changes for Precincts 122A and 124 in Tangipahoa Parish.***

Voters who previously voted at either of these precincts will need to check with the Registrar of Voters office to verify changes to their precinct and/or polling location, if any.
New precincts: 122B and 124A will now vote at:
New 8th Ward Fire Station, 27475 Hwy 22, Ponchatoula, LA
