Election Day Is Saturday, August 15, 2020

Polls Open At 7:00am And Close At 8:00pm

IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER for this Election:

  • Last Day to Register in PERSON or by MAIL to Vote: 07/15/2020
  • Last day to Register to Vote using Geaux Vote Online Registration: 07/25/2020
  • Early voting (8:30 am – 6:00 pm each day) (EXTENDED 14 DAYS) 07/25/2020-08/08/2020

***Persons who want to cast an early ballot in person should do so at their local Registrar of Voters office. Louisiana Law provides for early voting by mail, and special provisions are in place for persons in the military. Voters who are physically unable to vote in person at the polls on Election Day and/or who are unable to vote in person at the registrar’s office may be eligible for the Special Program for Physically Handicapped Voters.***

Reminder: Valid identification is required when voting. Please take a picture ID to polls. Voters with only a utility bill, payroll check or government document with their name and address must sign an affidavit furnished by the Elections Division in order to vote.

July 22-24, 2020
8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day

Persons interested in qualifying for the below listed offices shall qualify at the Clerk of Court’s office in Amite, LA:


Candidate Office Titles:

PARISH WIDE RACES:

  • 21st Judicial District Judges
  • 21st Judicial District Attorney
  • Justices of the Peace
  • Constables

MUNICIPALITES:

  • City of Hammond: Marshall, City Court Judge
  • Town of Amite: Mayor, Chief of Police, Council
  • Town of Roseland: Mayor, Chief of Police, Aldermen
  • Village of Tangipahoa: Mayor, Chief of Police, Aldermen

Qualifying fees:

***If candidate is not a member of a recognized party (Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, Green, and Reform) he/she only pays the amount in the qualifying fee column.***

The qualifying fee shall be paid in cash or by certified or cashier’s check on a state or national bank or credit union, United States Postal Money order, or money order issued by a state or national bank or credit union.

Valid identification is required when qualifying.
